This week’s foodie blog post is about chocolate chip cookies.  I’m not going to tell you that these cookies are the “best cookies ever”  because honestly everyone says that.  I will however tell you that I have catered and given away dozens upon dozens of these cookies, been asked repeatedly for the recipe, and polished off quite a few cookies myself.   🙂 These really are a family favorite in my house so I hope that you enjoy them!

The thing about this recipe is that it has been tweaked for years and now its finally as close to perfection as I can possibly get it.  This recipe is also healthier than your average cookie recipe due to rolled oats, dark chocolate and smaller amount of white sugar. It also is easily doubled. In fact most of the time I double the recipe when making these cookies!

I think that the the key ingredient here is the chocolate.  I use the dark chocolate Trader Joes Pound Plus Bar,  and it makes these cookies practically heavenly if you love chocolate. I have tried other kinds of chocolate, and chocolate chips and the results are good, but not the same. I know using chocolate chips is a lot easy then having to cut up a massive bar of chocolate, but the results are worth it!

Pictured above are most of the ingredients that I used when making this. The only thing not pictured are the rolled oats.  So, I now entrust you with this recipe. Take care of it, make it often and share with others!

  1. If only I could indulge in these cookies. They really were/are my favorite chocolate chip recipe. The Trader Joes dark chocolate put them over the top.
